RE: JCO: My Sister, My Love

Hi Cyrano
Although I didn't participate in the group story, I'd love to read it.

The other title which immediately sprung to mind reading the copy for MSML (which I just received yesterday!) is We Were the Mulvanneys. In terms of narrative it seems quite similar: the son of a once prominent family searches for and reveals the truth in his narrative, focusing specifically on his sister. Of course, I'm sure the content is much different.

Best
Eric

Hi, Christa.  Looks like Steve has a copy of the group story in his computer.  Maybe he will be able to email it to this site.  If not, I'll scan it in later.  No need for reimbursement -- it will be a pleasure.
Haven't received my copy of MSML yet but I'm recalling the brother/sister fiction of JCO: them, Angel of Light, and of course the very early short story "Legacy" in, I think, the collection By the North Gate.  No doubt other members recall other titles.
   Happy Summer Solstice.

ROFL, Cyrano is right, it's just a book----but I remember sitting in front of Annie Proulx "Shipping News" with MUCH the same attitudes and terrors----in fact I never did finish it.  My 86 yr old mother zipped right through it and loved it!

All of us in the group are so bright and intense that we sometimes need to remind ourselves---it IS just a book.   Although I say this with bated breath, there are several JCO books that I read about halfway through and then put down, saying NO---just NO.  Then there are others that have changed my life and make her what she for me, one of the 20th and 21st centuries' greatest writers.

Hugs
Christa
