Re: JCO: RE: Marya: A LIfe

Thanks, Karen.  I'm on it, believe me.  I am totally pissed that he waited til today to tell me he can't get it when I ordered it in NOVEMBER, grrrrr, just to be sure this wouldn't happen.  I've spent weeks developing materials for this text....and I'm determined to use it even if I have to buy the copies myself and put them on library reserve. So far I've bought about 20 from various sources.

I'm really surprised you're encountering this problem. I didn't have any problem when I taught this book this past fall, although I only had about 30 students. You might want to consider contacting a sales rep directly because they might be able to help. You can go online to the Penguin or Plume site and enter your location info and it should tell you who your regional sales rep is. I just looked on the barnes and noble website, and it seems to be readily available there, so that might be another option.
Good luck!
Karen

Argghhh! After a ton of work on this novel, my bookstore tells me today (classes start tomorrow) that the publisher can't supply my 60 copies of the 1995 Penguin edition and no date can be given as to when they might become available. Someone on this listserv was kind enough to give me the publishing information. I wonder if anyone knows of a college bookstore or a distributor who just might have new or used copies of ANY edition. In the meantime, I'm buying them up on Half.com and Amazon for $5+.

Thanks, Annie
