RE: Re: JCO: Ford

I've heard him interviewed on NPR, probably on the "Fresh Air" show, but maybe on other shows as well. He's very engaging.

JCO: Ford

I have to admit I admire his short stories more than his novels. I thought everything in "Rock Springs" was a gem.

And, IIRC, she gave a very nice review of his "Rock Springs" stories,
and said something like he was a natural-born storyteller. He did teach
writing and literature at Princeton once upon a time. Aside: I don't
know whether he was still living in N.O. when the flooding hit but I
ought to check on it. .

Re: JCO: Stories and Journals

For anyone interested, the new (May) issue of PLAYBOY has a new JCO story called "Suicide Watch."  --Angie

Ford's a fellow-artist. I wouldn't be surprised if he's taught at Princeton
at one time or another. If so, the Smiths and the Fords no doubt socialized.

RE: JCO: High Lonesome

If memory serves me right, Ford has been involved in some short story anthology editing, just as JCO has. Perhaps they're acquainted via those projects.

JCO: High Lonesome

Picked up my copy of this very handsome book y'day.

BTW, she dedicates it to author Richard Ford and his
spouse, Kristina. What's the connection there?

(Ford gave a very interesting presentation a couple of
months ago here in Philly at the Kelly Writers' House
of UPenn.)

Cheers,
