JCO: Doris Lessing listserv

Greetings:

Apologies in advance if this is a misuse of the JCO list, but I figured that some of the members here might be interested:

I've started a listserv on the work of Doris Lessing through the University of Cincinnati.  Please see below for information on subscribing, if you're interested.

Glad to hear that Smooth Talk is finally getting a DVD release.  And too bad that neither JCO nor Doris Lessing won the Nobel.  Maybe next year...

Cheers!

The Doris Lessing Discussion Group is designed
for the exchange of information and ideas about the
work of British writer Doris Lessing.  Though the
discussion will be largely academic in nature, it is
open both to academic and (to use Virginia Woolf's
term) "common readers."  Topics may include
Lessing's past and current work, her life and its
relation to her work, the movements that have
influenced her, such as communism, radical
psychiatry, Sufism, etc.  The list will also inform
members about upcoming Lessing publications,
personal appearances by Lessing, articles about
her and her work in periodicals, and any other material
of pertinent interest.

To subscribe, please visit the following website:

http://listserv.uc.edu/archives/DORIS-LESSING.html

Click on "Join or leave the list" and follow the instructions.  Once you are a member of the listserv, you can send messages to the list to the following e-mail address:

DORIS-LESSING@listserv.uc.edu

Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Re: Re: JCO: "Face to Face"

Thanks Randy. I didn't know how to post it as a separate site, so I could only send attachments. I'd be happy to send it to anyone who would like it.

I can send it to your e-mail address and to anyone else on the list who wishes to read the article if that's better. I hope I haven't clogged up the listserver or something!

Laura, the list automatically rejects any posting over 40k in size (roughly) -- primarily this is to help stop spam from entering the list, but it is generally not a good idea to send attachments to lists of people you don't personally know. Too many attachments we all get are viruses.

Your offer to send the article to whomever asks is a good idea. (And if you are going to ask, send your request directly to Lara's address, not to the list). Thanks!

Hi Yumiko,

I sent the JCO article "Face to Face" this morning in 5 separate e-mails, but they don't seem to have been listed. Perhaps it's because I sent the messages with PDF attachments? I can send it to your e-mail address and to anyone else on the list who wishes to read the article if that's better. I hope I haven't clogged up the listserver or something!

Best regards,

Lara

Can see JCO writing a major novel on Dylan.
