Re: JCO: From NYT

Thanks, Lara.  It did win an Oscar, and I'm determined to find a copy to transfer to DVD or VHS.  Thanks for your help.

Re: Re: JCO: From NYT

Hi Annie,

It's very difficult to purchase short films, unfortunately. Generally, they get very little distribution (especially in North America) and even if you found the distributor, by now the contract would have lapsed. Sometimes libraries carry them, but even then, it's usually an Oscar winner. You could try imdb.com, look up the filmmaker and contact him directly (or his agent or producer). A more complicated route is to find out in which festivals the film played and check the archives of those festivals. The best and most extensive short film festivals are in Europe (Clermont-Ferrand in France; Oberhausen in Germany or Tampere in Finland) though. You're unlikely to find the film on VHS or DVD, but on older formats like 3/4 inch or a film print. Still, I think trying to reach the director is the best way.

Good luck,

Lara

Thanks, I did find that review also after posting my query here, but I still can't find purchasing or rental information.
