That's so true -- like in "The Will" and "The Little Prince." She is hard to find these days but I find she holds up superbly well to re-reading.

Hi, Rick.  I read a lot of Mary Lavin short stories in the early 1970s.  I particularly remember one entitled "A Small Bequest."  ML never lost sight of her characters' financial lives, something that authors often overlook.
