JCO: Numbers
I apologize for what will surely seem like a hideously pedestrian question, but
here goes: what are the current numbers in terms of Joyce Carol Oates' published
oeuvre?
I have the following the numbers:
more than 70 novels
more than 100 short stories
some 15 volumes of poetry
more 20 plays
more than a half-dozen works of literary criticism/commentary
hundreds of essays/articles/reviews in dozens of periodicals
a couple of children's books
a libretto
Are these accurate statements? I don't necessarily need hard and exact numbers,
just reliable ballpark figures for non-specialists.
