JCO: Black Girl White Girl ATTN: SPOILERS

Hi,

I just finished reading Black Girl White Girl this afternoon. I found myself feeling a bit disconcerted at the ending (because of my expectation that the
novel be about the relationship between a black girl and a white girl) when the
final image is one of the relationship between Genna and her father. It has
just occured to me as I was writing out the title that the opposition Black
Girl/White Girl could also refer to the idea of "good girl/bad girl". For me
this thought adds another dimension to the book and ties in well with the
father-daughter relationship theme.
