What are we talking about here?  It is the "Senator" and not the "Man" who seduces in this work.  I've forgotten the woman's name....but her undoing lies fundamentally  in the power of the aura of office, the charisma of artifice, that undoes her, causes her to slowly drown in her own fantasy.
