I hope it's alright to announce on this listserve (because it does relate to JCO), that my short film adapation of JC Oates's short story, Small Avalanches, will have its U.S. premiere on June 2 at the 10th Brooklyn International Film Festival. The second screening during the Festival will take place on June 3. I've pasted the link to the film and screening times below (there is also a one-minute trailer). The film will also play on June 3 as part of the 12th New Jersey International Film Festival at Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
To my great relief and joy, Joyce was really pleased with the film. She loved the directing, the actors, the atmosphere, the locations and the camerawork. It took several years to make the film and get financing so it's a thrill to finally get out to public venues.
